ABOUT ANDY FURNELL
I work on complex systems where performance is difficult to measure and harder to improve. My background is in network architecture and telecom ecosystems, focused on how infrastructure translates into real user experience at scale. At Meta, I focused on improving quality across mobile and fixed networks by making performance measurable and actionable. This meant moving from fragmented signals towards structured models where applications and networks could be optimised together, and working directly with partners to land changes that delivered meaningful improvements for end users.Earlier in my career, I led architecture and strategy across large-scale IP networks, from greenfield builds to multi-year transformation programmes. I focus on clarity, rigor, and building foundations that allow systems and teams to scale, and I’m particularly interested in problems where:* Systems are complex and ownership is fragmented * Measurement is weak or misleading * Progress depends on aligning multiple parties with different incentives
