ABOUT ANDY RUSSELL

Full-stack TypeScript developer with 17 years’ experience delivering products end-to-end — from well-designed APIs to fast, accessible UIs. I’m comfortable across SSR and SPAs, and pick the approach that fits the project. I care about maintainability, performance, accessibility — and I pride myself on great DX; it genuinely makes me happy.Day to day I build on SST + AWS for application and infrastructure, Hono for lean HTTP services and APIs, and either Next.js or a React Router v7 + Vite stack on the front end, depending on the project. I favour strong typing and clear data models across both relational and NoSQL stores, and keep the UI layer tidy with Tailwind and shadcn/ui.I also build internal AI agents and automations — tools currently including LangGraph, AI SDKs, and AWS Step Functions. AI supports how I work as well: I integrate OpenCode, Copilot, and a mix of LLMs from providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and Perplexity into my workflow for exploration, refactoring, and test scaffolding (with human review front and centre).I like owning the full slice: shaping architecture, smoothing the developer experience, and polishing the last 10% of the UI.
