Andy Oakley has transitioned into the role of DC Security Manager, where he is responsible for the overall physical security posture of a Data Center (DC) facility. In this role, he leads the site\'s security operations, focusing on implementing and verifying compliance with security procedures. He is accountable for optimizing the effectiveness and efficiency of physical security measures, ensuring all alarms are resolved in accordance with standards and policies. He is tasked with championing new security initiatives, coordinating their implementation with various business partner teams, and leading cross-functional teams to achieve security objectives. Furthermore, Andy develops and executes security strategies, drives processes toward industry-leading security performance, and is responsible for reducing operational costs through process improvement and technology enhancement.Andy\'s previous experience as a Physical Security Specialist currently supporting Amazon Web Services (AWS) within the SPEAR AMER-West Evaluations team. In this role, he led the execution of comprehensive physical security evaluations across AWS data facilities, ensuring all identified vulnerabilities are documented, mitigated, and resolved. Andy partners directly with AWS customers to review and interpret physical security standards, assists in developing innovative technologies and measures to strengthen the organization’s security posture, and contributes to the strategic direction of AWS’s global physical security program.Prior to joining AWS, Andy served as a Security Operations Specialist at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) within the National Security Directorate (NSD), where he provided both technical and administrative leadership in the design, testing, and maintenance of complex physical security systems, including barriers, access controls, alarms, and detection devices. He also oversaw compliance with DOE orders, managed access control systems, and developed program policies, implementation plans, and performance reports.Earlier in his career, Andy worked as an SAS Technical Coordinator, specializing in classified visits and clearance processing. He served as a primary point of contact for clearance and access authorization programs, ensuring full compliance with DOE and institutional security requirements.Known for his precision, reliability, and customer service excellence, Andy combines deep technical expertise with strong program management skills to deliver secure, compliant, and effective physical security solutions.
