Principle Investigator of research in the area of human cognitive performance optimization. Design and execute research protocols to evaluate efficacy of new, non-invasive brain stimulation techniques to improve operator performance, accelerate learning, and improve vigilance. Present research findings in refereed journals, national/international symposia, and government technical reports. Serve as human effectiveness directorate team lead for the Rotary-wing Brownout Countermeasures Program. Optimize design of human interface for candidate brownout technological solutions (e.g. new sensor technology). Design computerized models (C++) to predict physiological and cognitive performance decrements due to operational stressors. Principle Investigator in the area of multisensory displays including tactile, auditory, and visual to improve pilot cognitive performance. Mentor student interns during the summer to aid in execution of branch projects.
