ABOUT ANDY MCGRATH

I have spent a large portion of my working career at Leech & Co Solicitors Ltd which allowed me to gain a vast amount of experience in handling all matters of the RTA personal injury industry surrogates loss recovery together with costs drafting / negotiating etc. Following my time at Leech & Co Solicitors I moved my career into the world of legal costs and having previously worked at Civil & Commercial Cost Lawyers Ltd, I then moved over to Ultimate Costs Ltd dealing with matters such as high value serious injury claims for both claimants and defendants; in addition to all work in respect of budgeting, case management, advocacy and negotiation.Albeit my time at Ultimate Costs was short, I moved over to KLS Law. The move was for personal reasons. That aside, whilst at KLS I have continued work on Both sides of the fence (claimant and defendant), dealing with various types of work including RTA, EL/PL, industrial disease and professional negligence together with consulting on clinical negligence matters. Such involvement has been in preparation of cost budgets for both claimant and defendant, negotiation of which, preparation of Prec R’s etc. In addition I regularly prepare bills of costs, schedules, N260s, cost estimates, JSM schedules and other such documents which is in addition to negotiation upon all of which.My work in costs presently in predominately in the housing disrepair field, dealing in both claimant and defendant. I take lead on complex issues, training needs for the department and liaising closely with the directors of the firm. My work deals with a wide range of quantum cases, complexity and in addition i take the lead on work from our sister company. I am currently undertaking the ACL course, in my second year having passed the first year of the course.
