ABOUT ANDY LEWIS
Hi, I\'m Andy Lewis, a survival instructor and passionate Bushcraft skills trainer. As a highly experienced educator, instructor & practitioner of outdoor activities I\'ve spent time in some of the most remote, beautiful and extreme environments in the world. Including the Nepalese Himalayas and Norway\'s Mountainous Hardangervidda wilderness. I cut my teeth in the hills and mountains of the UK and consider myself very lucky to have been indoctrinated into mountaineering as a child by my father.I\'ve been an educator for over twenty years, having starting instructing and teaching others when I was still a teenager. As a fully qualified secondary school teacher I taught outdoor education to teenagers, between the ages of 14 to 19, for over a decade. Delivering; Bushcraft, Forest School, trekking, the Duke of Edinburgh\'s award, indoor climbing, orienteering and more, on a daily basis. My qualifications include; NCFE level 4 Survival Instructor, MTA summer Mountain Leader, Bushcraft Instructor, Level 3 Forest School leader, MTA indoor climbing instructor, FAIB accredited Outdoor First Aid trainer and more. I\'ve taught a wide variety of skills to people from the ages of 6 to 60.I\'m a full-time professional instructor, delivering IOL accredited instructor training, regular Bushcraft courses, one-to-one skills training and bespoke events year round. I travel nation wide, from the Cairngorms to Devon, to instruct & deliver training. My mission is to teach people the rewarding, fascinating and diverse skills of Bushcraft & survival, as it\'s my wholehearted belief that practising these activities allows people to interact with the outdoors at a depth that can\'t be matched by any other outdoor activity. In this way people will learn to see the natural world as a valuable and renewable resource which should be enjoyed, respected and protected.\"Be prepared and learn skills for life\" is the ethos I live, work and inspire others by. I am passionate about delivering the skills needed to explore the outdoors safely, comfortably and responsibly. I want the people I teach to carry more than just kit. I want them to carry knowledge, skills and confidence. they weight far less!
