ABOUT ANDY LEE

With strong foundations in Science and Engineering, I have cultivated strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage myself and the projects given to me. I desire to further develop these characteristics with the companies I work with in the future.During my time as a student, I sought numerous internships that took me far away from my comfort zone, from Green Bay, WI to Louisville, KY. At each of these locations, I was able to further discern what role I would want after finishing my education. At Schreiber Foods in Green Bay, my role allowed me to expand from my experience with product sensory testing which I gained while serving as a laboratory assistant at the Sensory Service Center. Managing tests and reporting the results was my first insight into real-world leadership. From this experience, I continued my development at Beam (now Beam Suntory) in Louisville.Working at Beam, Inc was a more intimate experience with the industry. I learned more closely about the way R&D works, how it focuses on pressing toward unbroken ground yet is always careful to look back and make sure that the path paved is still unbroken and relevant. If any holes need to be filled, R&D fills them. If it is possible to do something better, R&D finds a way to do it better. With these experiences in mind, I have the following goals moving forward- To find an environment that dedicates time and energy to personal development- To find a mentor- To further expand my skill set through pursuit of an MBA- To continually challenge myself with new experiences
