ABOUT ANDY KING
Andy King is a Statutory Director with Sweco, a leading engineering and environmental consultancy. With over 30 years experience in the environment and sustainability fields, he provides strategic leadership for the Energy, Water & Environment Division with Sweco UK & Ireland. With full P&L responsibility, he oversees a £40m business, leads almost 400 multi-disciplinary engineering and environmental professionals, delivering projects across energy, renewables, gas and electricity transmission and distribution markets, water, and environmental sectors. His experience includes working with boards, senior officials, stakeholders, regulators, and contractors to deliver complex projects and long-term frameworks, delivering clean energy, environmental and sustainability goals and ensuring robust governance and stakeholder alignment.Andy assumes full P&L responsibility, oversees pipeline and bidding activity, strategic & operational business planning, resourcing and recruitment. Acting as Project Sponsor and Director for strategic bids, projects and programmes, he is experienced in forming and leading teams to deliver a wide range of projects. A strong advocate for innovation, diversity, equality, and inclusion, Andy has served as a Board sponsor for HSQE, sustainability, and STEM programmes, and has chaired internal Sustainability Council and Digital Centre of Excellence teams.
