ABOUT ANDY KERR
I am currently working for bp as a Senior Data Manager, based out of our Sunbury office in London. My current role is based in bp\'s OSDU Product Pod, supporting bp\'s OSDU Pilot testing and OSDU transition/deployment plans for 2024 onwards.In previous roles, I have been responsible for supporting bp\'s subsurface and wells data for our joint venture and non-operated assets in Iraq, Kuwait, and the UAE, including being directly responsible for the management of bp\'s data for one of the biggest oil fields in the world (Rumaila, Iraq).I joined bp in 2017 as a Subsurface Data Management Challenge Graduate, before then rolling off this program into a Subsurface Data Specialist position in April, 2020. I was then promoted to a Senior Data Manager in January, 2021.Additionally, I also have operational oil and gas industry experience prior to joining bp, including working off-shore as a Logging Geologist for Weatherford UK Ltd.I have an MSc with Distinction (1st Class) in Integrated Petroleum Geoscience from the University of Aberdeen for which I was awarded a funded scholarship from CNR International. Prior to this I obtained a 2-1 honours in Geophysics (BSc) from Edinburgh University.I also completed the Data Analyst Level 4 UK Apprenticeship over 18 months from 20••••23, receiving the final grade of Distinction.I feel that my key competencies lie in strong communication, presentation and problem solving skills. I have an academic background in mathematics and physics and have proven to be a fast learner. Throughout my career I have shown my enthusiasm, reliability, and ability to work closely with others, along with a drive to push myself outside my comfort zone.Data Analyst Projects: Data Security & Compliance, Data Visualization, Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Time Series Analysis.Grade: DistinctionMSc Thesis: Regional rock physics depth trend analysis and subsequent AVO modelling for the identification of DHIs in the Cote D\'Ivoire Basin (CNR International).
