ABOUT ANDY IRWIN
About me I am a queer theorist and literary scholar dedicated to supporting people and communities disadvantaged by systems of privilege to flourish. I am also passionate about supporting and empowering people to make the world around them a better place to live. A disruptive and radical third sector leader before moving into academia, I have ten years\' experience managing award-winning teams and major engagement projects. I also have senior leadership experience as the former Chair of a UK-registered charity within Higher Education. Additionally, I am an experienced front-line coach, mentor and teacher- my practice informs my leadership. My work is personal. I’m from a working-class, single parent family, came out as queer at a young age and have overcome a major addiction. My experiences inform my work and make me kinder and better. I particularly enjoy working with creatives, academics, and students who identify as working-class, LGBT, Black or a Person of Colour on creating transformative communities.
