ABOUT ANDY ANDREW GARDINER

Throughout my career, I have consistently demonstrated leadership and leadership capabilities across various technical and professional environments. In my current role as an elected Supervisor for Bainbridge Township, I am responsible for preparing and managing the yearly budget, overseeing all projects, and leading township meetings. This experience extends to collaborating monthly with the Berrien County CEO commission, where I notably contributed to writing a new Agriculture bill presented to the President of the United States.My technical experience began in the Tool and Die field at Hanson Mold. Starting as an apprentice, I rapidly advanced to a Journey Mold Maker within four years, eventually leading people and projects for over 13 years. This led to a position at the Cook Nuclear Plant as a Shift Supervisor, where I supervised the rebuilding of the nuclear turbine.Subsequently, as a Lead Technician at Gast Manufacturing, I focused on continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing lab infrastructure, efficiency, quality, and productivity. I also played a key role in integrating new test technologies into the lab and UL Certifications.I then spent nearly 13 years at Whirlpool, initially helping to relocate the refrigeration lab from Evansville, Indiana, to Benton Harbor. Working as a liaison in the Mechanical Structures Lab, I maintained lab certifications, built new test equipment to ensure consistency, and minimized downtime. Later, in the Thermal Lab, I collaborated closely with management and engineering teams to prioritize workloads and test plans.My formal education has paralleled my professional growth:• Hanson Mold: Completed an apprenticeship at LMC College and earned both a Machinist card and a Journey Mold Maker card from the United States Department of Labor.• Cook Nuclear Plant: Received an Associate’s degree in Nuclear Science from Lake Michigan College.• Gast Manufacturing: Earned a Journeyman’s card and a Pneumatics Technician certification from the United States Department of Labor.• Whirlpool: Attended Siena Heights University, where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Science with a Minor in Management. I also completed the Black Belt training program.I believe my comprehensive background in leadership, project management, and technical lab operations aligns perfectly with the requirements of the General Manager position.
