Andrew (Andy) Adams has served as a senior global leader at Starbuck’s Coffee Company, a Fortune-200 company and one of Fortune’s “Most Admired Companies”, until his recent retirement in 2025. Andy is recognized as one of the key leaders responsible for Starbucks’ accelerating growth in China - and globally. He is highly experienced in managing change, growth, and business transformation. He has experience working directly with Starbucks founder, its Board of Directors, and with its global brand licensees.Andy has had a distinguished 21-year career at Starbucks. For the past ten years, he has reported to the CEO as Senior Vice President of Global Store Development and Design. He and his team have been focused on creating rapid growth while innovating and elevating the in-store customer experience in over 80 countries. He has also been responsible for Starbucks’ annual and strategic growth & investment plans for the Americas.Andy is no stranger to the boardroom as he has been a frequent participant and presenter at Starbucks Board of Directors meetings on subjects including major brand initiatives and store performance.Highly strategic, he has participated in a breadth of projects including evaluating potential acquisitions as well as in government affairs. He has also provided strategic guidance and brand standards for the company’s global teams and licensees.Andy has a true international perspective having lived in Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Canada while serving as Starbucks’ Vice President in various store development roles.Andy had earlier spent ten years in key roles at a Canadian family-owned real estate development company – Shindico Realty in Winnipeg, Manitoba. As such, he is familiar with the dynamics of founder-led and family-led companies. This full-service commercial real estate company has become one of the largest private real estate firms in Manitoba. The company’s portfolio of properties includes shopping centers, office buildings, industrial parks, multifamily apartments, and mixed-use developments. He oversaw some of the company’s most important clients. This included working with Starbucks to open its first store in Manitoba.Andy has served as Chairman of the Winnipeg Commercial Real Estate Board of Directors. He was also a Member of the Board of Advisors of the International Conference of Shopping Centers.Andy has earned a Bachelors degree (Advance) in Economics from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada.
