Andria Martinez has worked as a professional in the field of community and economic development for more than 15 years. She joined Grow America (formerly National Development Council (NDC)) as a loan officer for their CDFI affiliate, the Grow America Fund, in late 2009 after working for a non-profit organization dedicated to micro-enterprise development called Women\'s Economic Ventures (WEV) for nearly 4 years. Grow America is a national non-profit dedicated to increasing the flow of capital to underserved urban and rural areas for job creation and community development. For more than 60 years, Grow America has invested capital to craft equitable, vibrant futures. In addition, Andria has 10 years of small business experience as co-owner and manager of Expert Strokes Swimming, a family-owned, home-based swim school located in Long Beach, California. In her tenure at Grow America, Andria has held a variety of roles including Lending Manager and Advisory Services Director of the West Regional Team covering the California, Nevada, and Washington markets. Her responsibilities have included structuring & underwriting real estate and business development proposals for both public & private use. Additional expertise includes a specialty in revolving loan fund management & administration, drafting and implementing housing & economic development policies and programs as well as process design on an existing and growing portfolio of pandemic era disaster relief programs providing small business, commercial & residential assistance grants and/or loans. She is currently the Managing Director of Lending Advisory Services. Her passion is to help entrepreneurs & women of color succeed through education, opportunity and financial empowerment. Andria has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with minors in Spanish and Portuguese from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). She is an avid traveler and has lived and worked abroad in Brazil, Costa Rica, Spain and Mexico while studying in student exchange programs at national universities.
