Diagnosed with Stage 4 Throat Cancer in June of 2013. Participated in a Clinical Trial from July to September 2013 which, while very effective, did not eliminate all of the cancer. Entered into standard 7 week treatment of daily radiation with 3 treatments of Cisplatin chemotherapy. Developed Radiation Induced Carotid Stenosis (RICS) and had a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) at 8 years. Had an endarterectomy in 2023 to remove the plaque that was 80-90% blocking my right carotid artery. Took 9 years for the radiation fatigue to completely end. I think this episode in life is finally behind me.
