About Andrew Nguyen

Hi! I\'m currently a junior at UC Berkeley, majoring in Neuroscience. I am pursuing a career in life science research, with particular interests in immunology, pathology of neurodegenerative diseases, synthetic biology, and vascularized microphysiological systems! I have experience in extracellular vesicle and protein biomanufacturing as well as working with microphysiological models for tissue engineering, all of which I hope to leverage to one day help develop relevant in vitro models for neurodegenerative diseases. I\'m passionate about education and hold a keen interest in increasing diversity in the life sciences, and in past years, I\'ve spent my time mentoring other students, organizing and leading events for Pierce College\'s bioscience club, and volunteering for outreach programs at various institutions. My ideal career would integrate my research interests alongside my passion for undergraduate education and opening opportunities for underrepresented students.
