ABOUT ANDREW TEPPERMAN

I am a Ph.D. economist and Vice President in CRA’s Life Sciences practice. I have over two decades of experience assisting clients with high-stakes economic and damages issues in intellectual property, antitrust, and government litigation, and international arbitration. I have provided expert opinions in matters before Canadian, U.S, and UK courts, and have testified at trial on multiple occasions. I have also advised clients on matters before regulatory agencies, including the Canadian Competition Bureau. The focus of my practice in recent years has been on clients in the life sciences sector, including pharmaceutical, biologic, device, and diagnostic companies. I also have extensive experience addressing damages and other economic issues for clients in the technology sector and other industries.In intellectual property disputes, I have advised clients on damages in patent and trade secret matters as well as providing analyses of commercial success and irreparable harm. Across a range of antitrust assignments, I have evaluated market power and competitive effects associated with various types of conduct, including patent settlement agreements, vertical restraints, price fixing, and other antitrust claims based on the use of intellectual property rights. Experience in government engagements includes addressing economic and industry issues in fraud, nuisance, and regulatory lawsuits, along with tax and transfer pricing disputes. In breach of contract matters, I have analyzed business and economic considerations relevant to contract performance, as well as damages.
