About Andrew So
Andrew is a nonprofit organization founder and executive director whose experience and passion for education, mentoring, community development, and soccer merged with the founding of the South Bronx United (SBU), a youth development organization serving over 1,600 boys and girls in the community. His education experience has centered around teaching underserved, at-risk, and special need populations. He is active in the South Bronx community and has served as the chair of the Bronx Nonprofit Coalition. In 2020, he accepted the Laureus Sport for Good Award on behalf of SBU in Berlin Germany and was named the US Youth Soccer East Region Administrator of the Year. He has also supported developing and aspiring nonprofit executives through consultancy and mentoring.

Founded South Bronx United, a youth development organization that uses soccer as a tool to improve the lives of immigrant, low-income and at-risk youth. South Bronx United\'s mission is to promote educational achievement, character development, health and wellness, and community improvement through programming in the classroom and on the soccer field. The organization serves nearly boys and girls, aged 2-24, through academic enrichment, college prep, workforce development, mentoring, immigration legal services, and competitive and recreational soccer. South Bronx United also operates the Clubhouse Café, a social-enterprise coffee shop in Yankee Stadium neighborhood.
