Hi, my name is Andrew Rafael James!I am a passionate data professional with five years of experience in analytics. My journey with data began when I took a Database Management course—learning SQL—and then self-taught pandas via Dataquest during my undergraduate studies. I went on to work as a data analyst at Indonesia’s largest e-commerce platform (Tokopedia) and Southeast Asia’s leading online travel platform (Traveloka), collaborating closely with the Product, Marketing, and Revenue teams.During my time there, I really was a jack-of-all-trades. At one point, I focused on defining north-star metrics, extracting data using Google BigQuery, and building ETL pipelines to create single-source-of-truth dashboards. At another, I was part of the BI migration process, worked with the Marketing team to optimize budgets and coupon strategies, and led the design and analysis of experiments to help the Product team launch new flight features. Since then, I’ve honed my expertise in building end-to-end analytical solutions to drive business metrics, in storytelling—sharing complex, actionable insights with senior leadership—and in collaborating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Currently, I’m advancing my technical toolkit as a Master’s student in Applied Data Science at the University of Chicago, focusing on statistical learning, causal inference, and NLP. Beyond data, I’m an avid badminton player and music enthusiast—bringing the same energy, discipline, and creativity from the court and concert hall to every project I tackle
