ABOUT ANDREW NICHOLSON

I have over 29 years experience of civil engineering, which has been gained from a range of projects, including new build and refurbishment of Bridges and Highway Structures, alongside a number of new road schemes for large development and road improvement schemes. The majority of this experience lies within the design, inspection, assessment, maintenance and construction of bridges and other associated structures. I have project management experience relating to the successful delivery of a number of multi-disciplinary and major refurbishment schemes for the Highways England. I also have experience of leading and managing multidisciplinary projects and supervising the construction of new roads and some landfill remediation on site. I currently act as the Delivery and Technical Director for the Jacobs Highways and Bridges teams in the Middle East, based in Riyadh. Recent notable projects include the design and delivery of M62 Greystone Footbridge, M56 J7 Bowdon View Bridge replacement and the design of the UK\'s first steel girder and fibre reinforced polymer composite bridge deck in the UK over the M6 in Lancashire. Recent Project Management experience has been gained from projects such as the Nottingham Express Transit Phase 2 DBFO Tender and Enabling Works alongside Vinci Construction. I have also been lucky enough to be involved with a number of Motorway Communications upgrades and Smart Motorways projects from the M42 ATM Pilot up to and including the current M6 Managed Motorways scheme, providing Structures input at a number of levels. I am also a qualified as an Institution of Civil Engineers Reviewer and a Supervising Civil Engineer as part of Jacobs\' Institution of Civil Engineers approved training scheme and acts as a mentor for a number of the structures staff across Jacobs.
