About Andrew Launder
Current patent agent | rising 1L @ Lewis & Clark Law | former theoretical chemist. As a scientist, I worked at the interface of chemistry and several closely related fields, including computer science, physics, mathematics, atmospheric science, biology, and materials science. Since leaving academia, I have applied and honed my cross-disciplinary skill set in intellectual property law.Over the course of my legal career, I have prepared more than 75 utility patent applications in diverse technical fields comprising software, energy storage, chemical compositions, winemaking, automotive components and diagnostics, and medical devices. The overall quality of my applications is reinforced and complemented by extensive experience in prior art searching and drafting prosecution/post-issuance documents, including OA responses, appeal and reply briefs, IPR petitions, and non-infringement and invalidity opinions. I have also leveraged my expertise in substantive review of application conversions (from provisional to non-provisional/PCT and from PCT to national stage) and prosecution strategies for numerous jurisdictions worldwide (including EP, CN, JP, and KR, among others).
