About Andrew Miu

Ever since I was a little kid, helping to solve challenges has always been my passion. I still remember dumping the entire box of legos (not fully comprehending that there were step by step instructions) and trying to put all the correct pieces together to match the picture on the box. This curiosity and passion carried me through my education at The University of Texas in Austin. There I was able to pick up and learn even more pieces as I studied Electrical and Computer Engineering. It opened my eyes to how many tools and technologies were available for me to discover and just how much more there was yet to learn. From robotics, circuits, programming languages, automation, big data analytics, algorithms, and wanting to combine these skills from the same fascination that drove me as a kid. That drive and desire to help put pieces together led me to work for Cisco Systems (Voted #1 Best Place to Work For 2019). I am enjoying my current role as a Systems Architect for Cisco, where I work with customers to help put together the right technology pieces to solve their business goals. I am constantly challenged to not only learn, simplify, and articulate Cisco technology but also partner ecosystems, competitor technologies, and market trends! Thankfully, I have an amazing team behind me that helps to mentor and support me. I am a huge believer in the power and importance of working \'better together\' as a team. I am always excited to meet people and discover their interest, help them with their goals, and learn from their experiences. Fortunately, I am in a position where I am empowered to drive a lot of impact not only in the relationships I develop but I have the ability to contribute to the overall growth of our region\'s business. I also have the ability to focus my skill sets to support organizations and values that I care about - youth outreach programs and homelessness.
