Fifteen (15) plus years in the Mining, Oil and design engineering industries including expert level experience in start-up and commissioning (CSU) management as well as extensive experience in the development of high pressure acid/oxygen leach process plants. Well-rounded multi-disciplined commissioning management execution experience: electrical/instrumentation/mechanical/piping/DCS & PLC. Staged commissioning process expert: Stage 1 Construction Verification Inspections; Stage 2 Initial Energization & Testing; Stage 3 Integrated System Testing; Stage 4 Process Optimization & System Performance Testing. Engineering design experience includes construction/commissioning activities while on international assignments, preparation of piping specifications, valve selection, line sizing, relief valve sizing, on-off valve and actuator sizing, as well as pipe modeling and hydraulic calculations using AFT Fathom/Arrow software tools. Solid background in process engineering fundamentals including: process design basis development, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), heat and material balances, vessel sizing, pump calculations, relief load calculations, control valve sizing, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P & IDs), line lists, control philosophies, Shutdown Keys (SDKs), process plant optimization/troubleshooting, process safety, HAZOPs, applicable codes/standards (including regulatory), deficiency management, Pre-Start Up Safety Reviews (PSSRs). Developed calculation spreadsheets, completed full HAZOP/HAZID studies and detailed piping system and mechanical equipment designs. Have worked with an extensive array of materials including: Titanium, Tantalum, Nickel Alloys (Alloy 20, Hastelloy®, Monel®, Incoloy®, Inconel®, etc), duplex and super duplex stainless steels, PTFE and rubber lined steel.Countries of work experience include: Botswana, Brazil, Canada, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Finland and the USA.
