Hi, my name is Andrew McGuigan, a college student attending the University of Illinois Urbana - Champaign.In High School, i participated in clubs such as Youth and Government, Business Professionals of America, and Psychology club on the executive board. I have learned a multitude of skills such as public speaking, working in teams, promoting/advertising events, and business professional etiquette. During my later years I obtained a job at a pizzeria, where I learned skills such as customer service and how to prioritize my time effectively.I have also started up a charity organization named Sews for Smiles, where we raise money for mental health and suicide prevention.    At Sews4Smiles, we organize different social events to raise money for mental health while also creating a safe community of individiuals to support one another. Two of our previous events involved a volleyball and pickleball event, where we rasied combined over $1,400. We are continuing to plan more events and get ourselves out there to make a even greater impact than we already have.As the founder, I wanted to start this organization with a goal to help people feel surrounded, safe and secure. It\'s important to me that everyone knows they are important and that they matter. We are currently in the proccess of becoming non-profit certified, and planning our next event, which happens to be a bake sale!
