After moving to Canada in 2004 to study Music Theory and History at McGill University, Andrew Maruzzella quickly discovered a passion for Early Music. Based in Montréal, he can be heard playing historical oboes in ensembles throughout Canada such as Ensemble Caprice, Festival Bach Montréal, Studio de Musique Ancienne de Montréal, Theatre of Early Music, Festival Montréal Baroque, Les Boréades de Montréal, Les Idées Heureuses, Clavecin en Concert, Festival International de Musique Baroque de Lamèque (New Brunswick), Ottawa Bach Choir, and Early Music Vancouver.Andrew is also an active choral baritone specializing in plainchant and renaissance polyphony. He has performed with Les Grands Ballets, the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal Chorus, Theatre of Early Music, Les Rugissants, I Musici de Montréal, St Lawrence Choir, Musica Orbium, and Voces Borealis. He has held section leader and soloist positions at The Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul, St. John the Evangelist, St. Matthias, Christ Church Cathedral, and St. George’s Anglican Church.
