Required to act within a scope of practise to care for, preserve & save lives.• Assess & manage patients using appropriate urgent & emergency care techniques before referring to the most appropriate clinical pathway. Including transportation of patients, utilising a wide variety of equipment while employing various moving & handling methods.• The management & security of controlled drugs & prescription only medicine, their administration following approved clinical guidelines or service approved patient group directives.• Providing effective clinical leadership for patients & colleagues. Mentoring students, ensuring patients receive the highest quality out of hospital care.• Participating in ongoing updates through training & education regarding the latest; clinical practices, manual handling techniques, infection prevention & control procedures.• Record observations & findings appropriately. This may be in adverse situations including adult & child protection. Assessing vulnerable persons at risk in line with service policy & procedures, reporting to & liaising with appropriate agencies when necessary.• Fulfil appropriate roles at major/significant emergency situations, including incident commander.• Ensure patients are treated in the most appropriate environment (at home, in hospital, or on location).• Communicate relevant patient history, condition & treatment to receiving hospital staff & /or relevant professionals.• Maintain a high quality of patient centred care & confidentiality.• Compliance with the infection prevention & control policy creating a safe environment for patients, colleagues & members of the public.• Carry out dynamic risk assessments to ensure safe working practices are followed in line with service policy & current legislation.• Promoting equality & diversity within a non-discriminatory culture, taking action when other people’s behaviour undermines these principles.
