About Andrew Lillis

I help companies and individuals navigate legal issues in the United States. By counseling a broad array of clients, I\'ve built up, and maintain, knowledge of the issues most frequently faced by overseas companies in the U.S, including market-entry/structuring, brand protection/intellectual property, data privacy compliance, employment law/immigration and contract/drafting and negotiation. My experience offering cross-border legal advice started in the Far East, where I worked in Beijing counseling foreign companies doing business in China, continued through several in-house roles, including managing the legal/compliance department of a biotech manufacturer in Hong Kong, to the present day where I operate largely in an \"outside\" in-house counsel role, advising mostly European companies on U.S. legal law. Having grown up on both sides of the Atlantic, and being qualified to practice law in both New York and Ireland, I have a nuanced understanding of both European and American business cultures, enabling me to view issues from two different perspectives Work-aside, I thrive on gaining new skills and serve as Secretary of the Irish American Bar Association of New York, where I manage the organization\'s IT, web presence and communications. I also represent asylum seekers pro bono through Immigration Equality, and maintain an interest and working knowledge of international asylum issues.
