Flexitricity optimises energy flexibility by providing a route-to-market service for electricity generation, storage and flexible load. We partner with battery storage assets, gas peaking plant, a wide variety of industrial & commercial sites with behind-the-meter flexible generation or load, and tech companies involved in the electrification of heat and transport (such as heat pumps and EV chargers, including at domestic properties).Depending on the type of flexibility, Flexitricity can provide electricity and gas supply services as well as become the demand-side response aggregator for the site, optimising flexibility across the following markets- Wholesale electricity markets on the curve, day-ahead and intraday- National Grid ESO ancillary services, such as reserve services and frequency response- The Balancing Mechanism, National Grid ESO’s most important tool for balancing the system- Distribution Network Operator (DNO) flexibility services- NIV-chasing, running for the system imbalance price- Triad management; and- the Capacity Market.Flexitricity pioneered demand-side response (DSR) in GB, becoming the first aggregator to dispatch a call for Short-Term Operating Reserve (STOR) in 2008, the first to dispatch aggregated Frequency Control by Demand Management (FCDM) in 2012, participated in the first DNO flexibility trial (Low Carbon London) in 2012, was the sole aggregator in National Grid ESO’s Enhanced Frequency Control Capability (EFCC) trial in 2016, and the first to dispatch a behind-the-meter asset in the Balancing Mechanism in 2018.We are a founding Committee member of the Association of Decentralised Energy’s (ADE) Flex Assure scheme, a code of conduct which sets common standards for DSR aggregators machine-learning algorithms with experienced and knowledgeable traders, market analysts and operators, Flexitricity is at the forefront of the energy revolution as we continue to connect to a diverse range of flexible assets; delivering lower-carbon, lower-cost balancing services to National Grid ESO from our 24/7/365 Control Room while providing our Energy Partners with
