The Online Ocean Symposium (OOS) is a digital forum that brings together different voices from the ocean. From scientists, to industry, policymakers, enthusiasts and activists, we create online steaming video discussions on a number of subjects. These discussions are streamed live, housed on YouTube and create a unique interactive opportunity for viewers.So far the group has spoken on: Ocean Acidification, Plastics and Debris, the High Seas, Sea Star Die Off, Behavior Modification, and more. Guests have included: Bill McKibben, Sylvia Earle, NOAA, UN Diplomats, Explorers and even Richard Branson. The Symposium also creates outreach and policy campaigns related to the ocean, waste-stream management, and climate awareness. It also acts as a consulting body to other groups in these fields. I developed the concept, currently create the programming, website and network for the Online Ocean Symposium. In this role I am also in charge of all outreach and social media. This includes reaching out to VIP guests, partners and news outlets. I have been responsible for growing our community and we have gotten to the point where we have passed followers on Google plus. I also edit all videos and create highlight reels of the Hangouts that I host and moderate.In addition to this, in 2015 the Ocean Science Radio podcast was launched and, since then, we have created nearly 100 episodes and earned close to ​ listens. I produce the episodes, acquire the guests, and promote the podcast.
