About Andrew C. King
I am the Director of the Flemming Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Hampden-Sydney College. I have the privilege to teach students powerful tools for embracing uncertainty and turning unknowns into opportunities. After more than a decade at the Darden School of Business, I have developed a skill set that brings together my passion for helping teach people how to create new ventures that solve valuable problems through innovative project management and applying entrepreneurial principles. Researching the problems that leaders face and how to accelerate finding optimal solutions has been a central focus of mine. I have developed online trade conferences and managed a team of coders to run virtual events for a U.K-based new venture. Ernst & Young in Germany gave me the chance to consult at some well-known companies including T-Mobile and Bombardier. While at Darden, I was responsible for developing new knowledge using advanced business research methods that supports managerial decision-making in uncertain environments. I have had the good fortune to collaborate with scholars and executives from around the world on projects ranging from scholarly conferences, writing books on project management, Design Thinking, and innovation, and training executives in global corporations.
