About Andrew Faulkner

Andrew believes that the potential of design must be realized through the creation of unique and sustainable places to live, work, and play, and that successful design must work across scales from the room to the city beyond. He believes that the access to good neighborhoods, effective transit, and sustainable places must be available to all. Andrew delivers a wide range of experience experience in roles ranging from community visioning to construction administration. He has worked in segments including non-profit community design, speculative commercial, market rate and affordable multifamily residential, luxury residential, furniture and TOD planning. He has contributed to the entitlement of more than multifamily units in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2012.Andrew\'s belief in the transformational power of design vision to mobilize residents, attract investment, and revitalize identity leads him to work in the public interest; he served as a founder and vice-chairman of the City to River advocacy group (http://citytoriver.org) where he developed strategy, worked to build stakeholder support and leveraged political buy-in for improved access to the Mississippi River and Gateway Arch. Andrew is a founding member of ConnectOakland: A Vision to Reconnect Neighborhoods and Connect Cities and is working to push the conversation around a second Transbay Tube towards a more resilient and equitable vision. A graduate of Washington University in St. Louis (dual M.Arch/MaUD) and the Ohio State University,(B.S. Arch/minor City and Regional Planning) Andrew was appointed to the Planning, Landuse, and Zoning committee of the Mayor\'s Vanguard Cabinet of St. Louis and served from 20••••12. Andrew is a contributor to Sustainable Nation by Doug Farr. He has also contributed articles to the Journal of Green Building, TraceSF (http://tracesf.com/), and NextSTL (http://nextstl.com/).
