The mission of Sentinel Subsea Ltd. is to achieve global leadership in monitoring the integrity of subsea wells for environmental peace of mind. Sentinel\'s unique (passive) approach to verifying well integrity is a low cost solution that allows the wide-spread monitoring of shut-in, suspended and abandoned subsea wells in the same way that smoke alarms have become ubiquitous in homes and offices worldwide. They provide peace of mind and only signal when there is a need to inspect an asset to determine the nature and severity of the environmental change that has caused an alert to be raised.* By reducing the need for vessel-based inspections, monitoring costs are reduced, as are the emissions generated by the vessels used for those inspections. This is a valuable contribution to nett zero targets.* Early alerts enable operators to better plan campaigns and the use of expensive resources.* Long-term monitoring (over 20 years per deployment) provides a means of validating the new abandonment techniques that are needed to reduce the costs associated with decommissioning thousands of wells over the next few years.* This low-cost, passive and elegantly simple solution allows the industry to demonstrate a new level of proactive environmental stewardship.* Sentinel’s solution is also applicable to CO2 storage in depleted subsea oil & gas wells.
