ABOUT ANDREW HOOLEY
Andrew is a thought leader in the application of emerging mobility technologies and the transition to net zero with experience across Australia and the UK. He is recognised for establishing programs which actively bring sectors together to solve transport’s biggest challenges while creating industry growth opportunities across the international ecosystem. He thrives in the unknown, loves exploring the big picture and solving complex problems through collaboration with others. With this mentality he\'s focused on leading programs including world first automated vehicle trials, sector transforming zero emission bus and hydrogen in transport strategies, the real-world delivery of innovative On Demand service models, and agile exploration programs to establish government policy vision for the accelerated adoption of electric aviation (drones, advanced air mobility and regional air mobility). At Transport for NSW, Andrew most recently led Future Mobility Strategy and Engagement – working across government, industry and academia to explore innovative technologies, develop transition strategies, and enable real world deployment of emerging technologies into integrated transport networks. In 2023 Andrew took long service leave and a career break from Transport for NSW, travelling 30+ countries across 5 continents and qualifying as a ski instructor in Switzerland. Now settled in London, Andrew leads the Aviation portfolio at Innovate UK Business Connect where he supports the aviation sector to develop and scale emerging technologies.
