I am an experienced retail manager with over 30 years in the field. Along with my buying experience at Costco, I have been the General Manager for big-box retail chains such as Sears and Office Max. I have bought in both perishable and non-perishable categories, working with vendors both international and domestic vendors. In a broad range of retail environments, I have trained and developed numerous employees in areas of purchasing, analysis, product knowledge and sales floor execution. My strengths include, but are not limited to, assessing organizational needs, implementing initiatives that enhance corporate performance and employee relations. Additionally, I have the communication skills needed to motivate associates from diverse backgrounds and ensure that all of the standards and results desired by corporate teams are achieved while productivity standards are met.
