About Andrew Desimone

I am a Senior at Stonehill College studying Criminology and Political Science. My time outside the classroom is split between multiple jobs and campus involvements. I serve as a Resident Assistant for upperclassmen, growing my skills in conflict resolution and community building. I am a member of the Office Admission student Executive Board, a small group of student ambassadors selected to manage the office’s tour guide and student ambassador program. In this role, I create trainings, manage hiring processes, and plan large scale programs like Open Houses. In my junior year, I completed a nearly year-long internship at the Court Service Center in Brockton, an office through the Massachusetts Trial Court that assists Self Represented Litigants with any legal help they may be seeking. I was fortunate enough to interact with local users of the court and not only learn about the deeper functions of the court system, but also identify issues of many court processes and struggles that these users face. In addition, I learned to complete motions, affidavits, complaints, and other documents for litigants to use in their ongoing cases. I am currently interning with Plymouth County Juvenile Probation in Wareham, an opportunity that has allowed me to expand my experience in the criminal justice system and allow me to interact with new demographics of court users on unique issues. My goal is to gain more experience in the Massachusetts court system, specifically interacting with court users, before I attend law school and seek to continue a career in public law.
