ABOUT ANDREW COX

I am an inventor, sustainability consultant, mechanical design engineer and business entrepreneur. I have been working within the Clean Tech sector for over 16 years. I believe in developing multidisciplinary technologies which work in tandem with nature\'s processes to make the world a better place. Using a flexible, open and collaborative mindset and through our collective creativity, heartfelt integrity and political will, I believe we can find solutions to today\'s most pressing issues. I am a keen innovator, skilled in the use of materials, manufacturing techniques, project development and management. I was the lead designer of the C21 Solar (photovoltaic) tile, winner of the Best New Product Award at Interbuild 2004. As the first employee at QR, I helped grow the company from product concept startup with only three employees to fully fledged manufacturing company with a forty strong team, attracting £14m of inward investment from seed and institutional investors. I was the design lead on Sol.evo solar electric carports and a novel 2 part enclosure for a touchscreen smart meter. At Clear Water Revival I was responsible for business strategy and new product innovation as well as product design of of Clear Water Revival\'s ground breaking filter technology, growing the team from 1 to 12, and increasing turnover from £150k to £1.5m. I am now Managing Director of Origin Aqua, a business aimed at transforming the way we treat water using nature\'s answers instead of chemicals.
