About Andrew Chang

I specialize in decoding complex human behavior and experience (and brain) from multimodal data (survey, behavior, motion, acoustics, speech, text, qualitative data, electrophysiology & psychophysics), by integrating machine/deep learning, timeseries signal processing, and computational/statistical modeling with both lab and field experimentation. My research focuses on bridging metric-driven excellence and statistical rigor, interpretability, and feasibility. I have led international cross-functional teams on both fundamental neuroscientific, data science/machine learning modeling, and applied engineering research projects. My work has resulted in real-world impact and has been published in leading peer-reviewed venues (ICASSP, Interspeech, PNAS, PLOS Biology, Journal of Neuroscience), accumulating 752 citations (H-index: 14). I am honored to have been recognized by the NIH, the New York Academy of Sciences, the GRAMMY, and Scientific American.
