I was recruited to this role to manage operations of a gage repair and calibration facility that includes 36 bargaining unit employees and gages. I oversee QA inspectors and lead the quality management team to ensure annual gage calibration and repair passes annual ISO audits. Provides supervisory support during absences of the Chief Inspector ensuring problem resolution, plan of action implementation, and defect resolution. Some key results in this role include: Improving spare part order processes and forecasting abilities by standardizing parts and the way they were ordered. This effort also improved management of long lead times due to customization and complexity of parts and enabled back up inventory. I development training protocols for repairmen and created a training matrix on the basics. I further developed a peer training program for new employees. Created 50 categories/descriptions including requirements and ensured all employees were properly trained despite a complex learning curve.I brought annual calibration requirements into compliance upon hire including several hundred gages overdue. I reduced human error and improved efficiency by creating custom roles in the software solution which enabled technicians to check gages in and out without changing vital information.
