As a Cloud Platform Engineer, I led and executed large-scale automation initiatives to upgrade Node.js and Terraform across 100+ repositories, ensuring consistency in dependency management while minimising downtime. This involved updating Terraform state files to prevent resource destruction, even when introducing breaking changes, which helped maintain the integrity of existing infrastructure throughout the upgrade process. I also architected and developed a Terraform module from the ground up, along with a compound repository, to streamline the deployment of Azure Maps resources. This solution enhanced the scalability of our cloud infrastructure and facilitated collaborative deployment workflows, significantly reducing manual intervention and configuration errors.In addition to these projects, I played a critical role in proactively enhancing platform security by monitoring and conducting comprehensive security infrastructure tests. These efforts focused on identifying potential vulnerabilities, which were then mitigated in line with both industry standards and organisational security policies, ensuring a robust and secure environment. I also contributed to technical debt management by addressing deprecation warnings, upgrading repositories, and managing outdated technology versions, which helped to reduce risks and maintain the efficiency of the platform.Furthermore, I collaborated closely with cross-functional teams on the development and deployment of a ChatBot front-end, leveraging the OpenAI API to provide real-time responses and improve user engagement. Through these varied responsibilities, I consistently drove improvements in automation, security, and platform performance, while maintaining a keen focus on long-term scalability and reliability.
