About Andrew Wilkinson

During my college career, the courses and internships I have taken have shaped me into a professionallydriven student. My first internship was during the summer of 2017 at Donsco Inc. The projects Icompleted at this internship included a thermal analysis of iron being tapped out of the furnaces anddesigns of fixtures to hold castings. With the cooling curves we calculated derivatives to look at theporosity created in the castings being produced. At school, I have participated in many team andorganization projects. My courses of study have developed my skills as an engineer, researcher, andproblem solver. The organizational projects have enhanced my skills in leadership, teamwork, andmultitasking. In my courses I have learned how to build parts from schematics using manual and CNCoperated mills and lathes. I participated with a team of three engineers creating a trebuchet to hit a onefoot diameter bullseye twenty five feet away out of metal, wood, and cloth. Outside of the course work Ihave ran many events for the organizations I am involved in, such as an annual tournament held oncampus for Club Ultimate Frisbee where we host anywhere from eight to sixteen teams. With all ofthese experiences I am still excited for new challenges and opportunities to embrace.
