As a Project Development Summer Associate at Apex Clean Energy, I support the development of utility-scale renewable energy projects, including wind and solar. Working alongside experienced developers, I contribute to a range of responsibilities including management support of Apex’s renewable energy project pipeline, site evaluations and analytical support for site control and land acquisition, assisting in permitting, project scheduling, and budgeting processes and many other field and desktop work. I will also be responsible for a capstone project that will span the entirety of my time at Apex.

ABOUT ANDREW WHEELER
I am a junior in college attending Cornell University intending a major in Environmental Sustainability, and a minor in Design & Environmental Analysis. I am deeply interested in sustainability and sustainable design. This past summer, I began a position as an undergraduate assistant for the Holgerson Lab being responsible for its sulfate wetland biodiversity project. This project designated to us by the Environmental Defense Fund had a goal of understanding how the addition of sulfate to wetlands may reduce CH4 emissions in a warming world. Over the summer, I spent my time researching and collecting data on a plant species and its response to sulfate in differing amounts. This fall, I am currently analyzing our findings from the summer through sediment, air sample and porewater analysis.
