About Andrew Shuman

As an accomplished technical leader and certified coach, I spent most of my career at Microsoft where I took abstract technical ideas and turned them into products such as Bing.com and AI in Office. My experience includes shaping AI ideas and research into natural language search, document understanding, machine learning, and voice controls that now ship to hundreds of millions of Microsoft Office customers.Currently leveraging my talent in AI, software products, and services, I coach leadership executives on technical product strategies and how to grow their impact. My expertise in building teams and mentoring individuals within complex environments enables me to provide individuals and companies with guidance and direction as they navigate through their own challenges and uncertainties. One of my proudest accomplishments was leading a diverse team of technical leaders to rebuild Microsoft Search into Bing.com, creating a billion-dollar business for Microsoft.My coaching specialty is deeply rooted in helping those who, like me, have grappled with the complexities of moving beyond solving technical problems to leading people and navigating ambiguity. Everyone needs someone who is not their partner, manager, co-worker, family member to help sort out the stories they tell themselves! I bring my own experiences and lessons learned, focusing most on who you are and what you truly want. I live in Seattle with my wife, an accomplished food writer, and our two children.
