ABOUT ANDREW TAM
Based in London, UK, I’m an Associate and ARB-registered architect at rapidly emerging architecture practice Gort Scott. I lead the practice’s Integrated Technology working group, which interfaces with Gort Scott’s sustainability strategy, design standards and digital workflows, including overseeing implementation of the practice’s BIM strategy.I’m a member of the London Borough of Haringey’s Quality Review Panel, helping major development proposals meet the Council’s high environmental and social sustainability standards through championing good design and placemaking as part of the planning process.I’m also Architectural Consultant to Hive Curates, delivering affordable creative workspace and cultural programming in the public realm. With a keen interest in socially engaged, thoughtfully crafted design that makes lasting contributions to communities, I find as much enjoyment in city-scale strategic thinking as the finer details of buildings.Driven to make architecture more inclusive at all levels, I enjoy mentoring at school level as a volunteer for the Social Mobility Foundation, am a RIBA Part 3 examiner, and an invited design critic at several UK universities.
