ABOUT ANDREW SUTTON

It always puzzled me that out of the hundreds of psychologists I have been around, I struggled to find those who shared my fascination with how people use technology! Whether you call it User Interfacing, User Experience, or Human-Computer Interaction; this is the unsung hero that keeps our electronic world ticking over. I started off my career investigating this as a researcher, having one particular article published before my graduation. I then moved on to applied science in the military space where I could look at some of the highest pressure UI/UX issues such as fighter cockpits. Finally, I got given the chance to follow my oldest and most persistent passion in video game design. I’ve been here a good few years now, and can proudly say that I really have found my calling and couldn’t see myself ever doing anything else!In tech, I love building generic and extensible systems. I’m never prouder than when my foundational work pays off and I can suddenly snap my fingers and do a week or more of dev work in an hour! Particularly as I can also guarantee the stability and visual quality of these features owing to this preparation. Whether it’s when I’m making new overhaul interfaces for my phone, or game projects. Outside tech, my interest of psychology naturally ties into my love of people and communication. I love presenting and running teams, and am taking increasing responsibility in doing so more regularly due to a proven track record in these soft skills.
