They had previously demonstrated a video-phone at the Geneva show with the underlying technology ATM. Combining it with ADSL I was instantly convinced of the potential that this \"Broadband\" would change all our lives. We proved the technology with BT between 1995 and 1997 and eventually settled the CAP versus DMT debate. The business case for the mass deployment of ADSL took a few more years and in we launched the SpeedTouch USB. This self-install proposition quickly propelled Broadband to be a must have service alongside Gas, Electricity and Water. We sold the dream of virtual shopping, music streaming, online gaming and video on demand. Amazon was born, Apple re-invented and Google, Netflix and others solved the TV riddle.Several generations of routers later Broadband and Wi-Fi are synonymous. Managing that Wi-FI and having \"the best wi-fi compared to other major service providers\" is all that counts.
