ABOUT ANDREW STEIN

I’m an attorney specializing in derivatives regulation, market structure, and financial policy, with experience advising on some of the most complex and evolving issues in today’s markets, including digital assets, exchange registration, and prediction markets.At the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), I advise senior leadership on legal and policy matters involving novel product classes, vertical integration, and cross-agency coordination. My work spans rulemaking, legislative analysis, and interpretive guidance, including contributions to the CFTC’s proposed rule on event contracts and implementation of the President’s Working Group recommendations on digital asset markets.I bring a blend of regulatory insight, legal precision, and policy judgment to help shape fair, transparent, and innovative derivatives markets. I am deeply committed to crafting policy that promotes integrity and responsible innovation.Prior to joining the CFTC, I served in the Treasury\'s Office of the General Counsel, with a focus on litigation and regulatory matters. I began my legal career as a litigation associate at Latham and Watkins, LLP in Washington, D.C. I received my J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, and a B.A, magna cum laude, from Yeshiva University. I am a member of the District of Columbia and Maryland bars.
