ABOUT ANDREW STEER

I am a dedicated, proactive, and delivery-focused nuclear safety case specialist with 18 years of experience in the nuclear industry. I have been able to enjoy many different challenges working with a range of clients across many stages of the nuclear lifecycle. I am currently Head of Regulatory Engagement for Cambridge AtomWorks supporting the development of the safety, environment, and security cases for licensing the ODIN reactor with Nano Nuclear Energy.Previously i was the Head of Licensing and Regulation for MoltexFLEX where my responsibilities included developing the FLEX licensing strategy and engagement with regulators. My aim was ensuring that the FLEX reactor is licensable and that the design develops considering the safety, environmental, and security and safeguards requirements to facilitate efficient and effective regulatory assessment. Previously to that, I supported the Generic Design Assessment of the reactor in the UK as Lead Safety Case Project Correspondent through to successful completion gaining a Design Acceptance Confirmation (DAC) and Statement of Design Acceptability (SoDA) from the UK regulators. My previous role to that developed from technical consultancy to line management and I coordinated operations on a daily basis for an office of 30 consultants with an annual revenue of ~£4m in direct support of the Managing Director.
