ABOUT ANDREW SILSBY

As President & CEO of Kennebec Savings Bank, I have the privilege of leading a mission-driven organization dedicated to helping individuals, families, and businesses thrive across Maine. Our goal is simple: to deliver exceptional service while supporting the people and places that make this state special. My path in banking began in 1986 as a teller. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to learn every facet of the business, which has given me a deep appreciation for the hard work that goes into every role—and a strong foundation to lead with both perspective and purpose. At its core, banking is about trust and relationships. I believe in the value of showing up—whether it\'s through local partnerships, volunteer work, or serving on nonprofit boards. That spirit of engagement is what guides me every day, both in the office and beyond. In 2025, I was honored to be appointed Chair of the Independent Community Bankers of America’s (ICBA) Legislative Issues Committee, advocating on behalf of local banks and the people they serve across the country. It’s a role I take seriously, knowing how important it is for regional voices to be represented at the national level. I’m proud of what we’ve built at Kennebec Savings Bank—a financial institution that sees giving back not as a side effort, but as a core part of who we are. Over the past decade, we’ve contributed more than $10 million and thousands of volunteer hours to strengthen the fabric of the areas we serve. But more than anything, I’m optimistic about Maine’s future. With hard work, collaboration, and a commitment to doing what’s right, I believe we can continue building places where people want to live, work, and put down roots.
