ABOUT ANDREW SCULLION

I am a lawyer with a broad range of experience having practiced as a Barrister, before qualifying as a Solicitor, working in private practice and currently working in the financial services sector.I currently lead a team which supports the legal division of a Tier 1 Investment Bank with the analysis, review and update of legal opinions which address netting and collateral legislation. Our team work with opinions across EMEA, Americas and APAC jurisdictions across a the full spectrum of financial services products. I also have experience in assisting the equities division with respect to their Prime Brokerage, Listed, Cleared and OTC Derivatives documentation. I have been part of the completion of large projects spanning a number of months and also quick turnaround BAU work.I transferred to the Solicitor profession and was added to the Roll of Solicitors in Northern Ireland in 2017. I was employed in a firm specialising in the defence of civil litigation. This included commercial disputes, employer\'s liability, RTCs and credit hire claims. Later in 2017, I moved to a general practice where I represented Plaintiff\'s in civil litigation in the County Court and Small Claims Court and advised on immigration matters.I was called to the Bar in 2011, where I served a civil pupillage gaining experience in varied County Court, High Court and Commercial Court litigation. During pupillage I also built experience practising in the Queen’s Bench Masters Court, developing a good working knowledge of the Rules of the Court of Judicature (NI) 1981.Prior to joining the Bar, I read law at Queen’s University Belfast, graduating in 2006. I was immediately employed as a legal executive in the Belfast office of Worthingtons Solicitors in the litigation and commercial departments.After completing pupillage in 2012, I continued to develop my civil experience by practising in the small claims and county courts. I also developed a keen interest in resolving probate disputes and chancery work in general.
