Hello! My name is Andrew Schmidt, though I go by Drew, and I\'m a senior student-athlete at Claremont McKenna College pursuing a bachelor\'s degree in Biochemistry. Work as an undergraduate research assistant in an organic chemistry lab at Keck Science. Investigate the potential of novel chiral auxiliaries in the development of enantioselective Friedel-Crafts reactions using silver ion catalysts. Performed multi-step/day synthesis and purification processes using NMR, HPLC, and GC to characterize products. Performed reactions in anhydrous, inert, and light-free environments. Collaborated with Professor Anna Wenzel in experimental and synthetic design.
