About Andrew Saykin
The major focus of my research program is integration of neuroimaging, genomic and other -omics biomarker data with emphasis on early detection of Alzheimer\'s disease. Other related imaging projects include the neural basis of cognitive changes after cancer chemotherapy, mild TBI and other neuropsychiatric disorders.Specialties: neuropsychology, neuroimaging, genetics
Experience
Editor in Chief, Brain Imaging and Behavior
Jan 2006 — Present
Brain Imaging and Behavior, a Springer journal, was founded in 2007 and publishes innovative, clinically-relevant research and critical reviews on topics related to neuroimaging approaches that enhance the understanding of neural mechanisms underlying disorders of cognition, affect and motivation, and their treatment or prevention. Priority is given to high impact reports of novel MRI (structural, functional, diffusion, perfusion, etc.) and PET findings. Studies employing other brain imaging modalities are considered if likely to be of broad interest and high potential impact. Multimodality studies are particularly welcome. Small pilot studies and case reports are generally not considered. Examples include the use of brain imaging for identification of at-risk populations, diagnosis and treatment planning, and for monitoring the effects of behavioral, pharmacological and neurosurgical interventions. Studies bridging the higher cognitive and molecular levels of analysis are welcome including, for example, research relating genetic polymorphisms and other biomarkers to brain structure, function or treatment-induced changes.
